Adult Occupational Therapy

 

The focus of Occupational Therapy is to improve independence in daily living skills such as dressing, eating, meal preparation and managing household activities as well as job performance. Occupational Therapy services include:

• Range of motion/strengthening activities for hands and upper extremities

• Rehabilitation for traumatic hand injuries, tendon repairs and arthritis

• Teaching of self-care skills

• Work conditioning programs

• Stroke rehabilitation

• Adaptive splinting

• Neurological deficits of the hand and arm

• Following orthopedic, cardiac and breast surgery

• Guidance to family members and caregivers

• Adaptive equipment recommendations and usage training

• Comprehensive home and job site evaluations with adaptation recommendations
